The Fathering Project

What is it?

The Fathering Project is a foundation which endeavours to inspire and equip fathers to create a beneficial connection with their children within their lives.

The Project distributes an abundance of resources, events and programs which are specific to the engagement style and needs of dad’s and other father figures.

History

The Project was founded by Professor Bruce Robinson in Western Australia in 2013 and has since developed a research arm, a library of fathering tips and resources as well as a Core Dad’s Group program that co-operates with a number of schools across the country to captivate fathers.

Since the Fathering Project’s inception in 2013, the Project has gained a wide diaspora across Australia with operations running in New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland.

In 2014, due to his tireless work in the medical field as well as The Fathering Project initiative, Professor Bruce Robinson was named West Australian of the Year.

In 2019, The Fathering Project was recognised as the Western Australian Men’s Health Award Winner, following an endorsement and a $5.4 million boost from the Federal Government.

Projects

Dad Groups are the projects core program and are established throughout schools and community groups across Australia. The groups deliver a peaceful, inclusive and enjoyable environment where father figures can learn, share, grow and connect.

 Impact

The knock-on effect the project has on supporting father’s across the country is that it has a profoundly positive impact on the lives of children.
